It's not always sunny in Philadelphia or Cancerland...

...and it doesn't have to be.

If you haven't read this article, you should.  I have more to say about it--when am I ever not willing to say more about something?  But I don't really have time right now.

We all know warriors who have not survived.  I have the same issues with the term "fighter" that I do with "survivor."

And pink.

Thanks for taking this stand. I have long been uncomfortable with these terms but I couldn't quite articulate why. When my dad decided he had had enough of fighting his pancreatic cancer and it was time to accept that death was coming, chemo or no, I think the hardest part for him was his fear that he was "letting us down", being a coward, or letting the cancer "win". But it wasn't a game or a battle, it was his life and then his death, something we will all have to do. We shouldn't have to face it with football metaphors if that is not our choice.
